Water Problem:
This customer has a dug well. A dug well is just that, a hole dug in the ground and lined with stones to prevent the soil from collapsing back in on itself. A dug well is the traditional “well look” you visualize from the olden days. However, if you were to build a dug well today, concrete “tiles” are used instead of stones. Tiles are simply big circular blocks that are stacked vertically to line a dug well. The idea is water entering the well will be filtered by the earth itself. However, because it is very difficult to seal all the components of the well above grade (well cap, joints between tiles/rocks), surface water gets directly into the water supply.
Nelson Household Water Treatment Installation Solution:
For this customer, FONTUS installed a 5-micron filter that captures any particles 5 microns or larger and then an ultraviolet (UV) light system. The ultraviolet (UV) light system neutralizes any bacteria coming from the surface water. After installation, FONTUS ran a sanitation process using bleach to eliminate residual bacteria in the plumbing. Lastly, FONTUS performed another water test to confirm there were no longer bacteria left in the water, and the units were working as expected.
HOW FONTUS CAN HELP
Your water can be quite different than your neighbor’s water, which is why FONTUS advocates for testing your water regularly. Unfortunately, some water treatment companies install the same cookie-cutter equipment in every home. In reality, the chemistry of the water coming into your home dictates the appropriate water treatment method. In addition, each property’s water has a unique chemistry. Individual location water chemistry is determined by geography and the house plumbing. This on-site visit to your home or commercial property allows us to customize your water treatment system. Our goal is to ensure we provide precisely the service you need and want from your water treatment system. You’ll receive an efficient water treatment system designed to manage the water supply specific to your water chemistry when you call FONTUS.
